First of all thanks to Him for allowing this experience to take place in my life.

Very often we learn from the Main Stream Sources about Wealth and Abundance and hardly looking at the Quran & the Hadiths for the sources.  After attending this workshop, Sister Thuraiyah Alhabsi helped to relate the quotes & principles mentioned during that the workshop in the Islamic Perspective.

Article extracted from  Sister Thuraiyah Alhabsi Facebook Notes.

Thanks to Suria Mohd and Master Dev for conducting the two-day workshop: Women Millionaire Mind Intensive. Apart from discovering some beautiful souls whom I am really thankful for having met them, I found myself re-energized and reconnected. I must also thank my lifemate because it was due to his deep love for books, and the continuous knowledge sharing moments, that I benefited much from this learning journey and it made me yearn for more and more.

I would like to share a few points I scribbled down in my note book.

1. WHATEVER MY MIND CAN CONCEIVE AND BELIEVE, IT CAN ACHIEVE

O YOU who have attained to faith! Remain conscious of God; and let every human being look to what he sends ahead for tomorrow! And [once again]: Remain conscious of God, for God is fully aware of all that you do; and be not like those who are oblivious of God, and whom He therefore causes to be oblivious of [what is good for] their own selves: [for] it is they, they who are truly depraved (from the road to success)! – Quran 59:18-19.

In the end note of verse 19, Muhammad Asad wrote: I.e., by having made a deliberately wrong use of the faculty of reason with which God has endowed man, and – by remaining oblivious of Him – having wasted their own spiritual potential.

2. THERE IS ALWAYS A BREAKDOWN BEFORE A BREAKTHROUGH

“And, behold, with every hardship comes ease”. 94:5. And this is repeated twice: “verily, with every hardship comes ease! Quran 94:6.

Recalling a point of discussion about this ayah, shared by my sister: It does not necessarily come after, but it comes WITH. It seems to come after because we take all the energy to focus on the breakdown.

3. THE PROPHET A BUSINESSMAN WITH DIVINE MARKETING SKILLS

Dev mentioned that the Prophet was a “businessman”. He implemented what I would love to describe as ‘divine marketing skill’.

He did not declare himself a “guru” or wait for followers to come. He reached out. His first strategy was to disseminate the message to his closest family members, discreetly.

And the second strategy was to spread the message openly. The point is he reached out without fear. He went out everyday without fail. He spotted the right ‘market’ – where the crowd was – ‘Aqabah. He did it with conviction. He ‘closed’ the deal with a treaty, then another treaty with a larger group. And he followed up with them, risking his own life.

4. LEVELS OF AWARENESS

Dev presented on levels of awareness: from the lowest level of consciousness to simple or animalistic consciousness to Divine consciousness. If you ever read Tasawwuf or study Sufi Literature, you will find that this is similar to theories of levels of Nafs (Self/Ego).

Imam al-Ghazali divided levels of Nafs into seven – from the commanding self (Nafs Al-Ammarah Bi As-suu’ (12:53). Scholars differ in their definitions of Nafs, Ruh, Qalb, or etc. Whatever it is, they are all talking about the inner self or the unconscious. You will find most successful people talking about this very same thing, in different terms.  In Napoleon Hill’s language, he would refer this as the subconscious mind and he explored the phenomena of brain, six ghosts of fear, the sixth sense, and the power of thoughts, imagination and auto-suggestion.

5) “SERVICE IS THE RENT WE PAY TO OCCUPY THE SPACE ON EARTH”

Indeed, man is created to serve. See

YOU ARE indeed the best community that has ever been brought forth for [the good of] mankind. .” As in, you are the best community created to serve others on earth. Quran, 3:111

6) POWER OF GRATITUDE

The most important chapter in “The Science of Getting Rich” is Chapter 7 – on Gratitude. And [remember the time] when your Sustainer made [this promise] known:

‘If you are grateful [to Me], I shall most certainly give you more and more; even more than you deserve, but if you are ungrateful, verily, My chastisement will be severe indeed!”

7) DESIRE – BURNING AND PERSISTENT – IS KEY TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS

“God guides unto His light him that wills [to be guided]”. And 13:11 “God is not to change what is in a people until they change what is within themselves.” Quran, 24:35

At this point, Dev gave example of the Burning Desire and Definite Decision made by whom he referred to as “Terek Al-Banzier”, according to my ears. But when he mentioned Spain, and then Ottoman, and then Gibraltar, I realized what he meant was Tariq Bin Ziyad.

However, the story about burning ships sound unfamiliar and after reading it, I realized that it was confused with the story of Vahriz, the Commander of Sassanid Army, who was reputed to have ordered his army to burn their ships to “eliminate any “second thoughts” in those warriors who might wish to escape back to Persia. (Kaveh Farrokh, “Shadows in the desert: ancient Persia at war”).  For more info see http://en.alukah.net/Thoughts_Knowledge/0/412/

Perhaps one good example of persistent burning desire is the empowering story of Abd al-Rahman Al-Dakhil who threw himself into the dangerous Euphrates River to swim for his life and who later became a ruler in al-Andalus (Spain).

8) SUCCESS COMES UNEXPECTEDLY IN COMMON HOURS

“Success will come to me unexpectedly in common hours – as I advance confidently in the direction of my dream, and endeavour to live the life that I have imagined”.

And unto everyone who is conscious of God, He [always] grants a way out [of unhappiness], and provides for him in a manner beyond all expectation”. Quran 65:2-3.

9) POWER OF AFFIRMATION

To achieve success and removing blocks in ourselves, the script, the goal, and connecting to the unconscious; are to be read or done over and over again. This partly explains why we perform the obligatory prayers over and over again. What are the “daily affirmation” that we read everyday in our daily prayers?

It would be very enlightening to appreciate every single word uttered and every single act positioned during our prayer. I am going to sit and learn about this and some of what I wrote here, this weekend. Let me know if you would like to join me in this learning journey.

10) TRUE WEALTH

Lastly, when we sang the altered song entitled “My Cubicle”, I recalled my 9 – 5 job and realized that being an entrepreneur is not at all about wanting to be rich or wealthy. It is plainly about “working real” instead of “work for one or two hours and pretend working for the rest of the hours”.

In other words, it is about manifesting the verse

“And when the prayer is ended, disperse freely on earth (you may devote yourselves to worldly pursuits) and seek to obtain [something] of God’s bounty; but remember God often, so that you might attain to a happy state!” – Quran, 62:10.

He Knows Best and we do not Know.

Keep guiding us.
