Word-by-Word Translation of the Qur’an
Bismillāh ar-Rahmān ar-Rahīm
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
About a month or two ago, my mum came back with a wide smile on her face and proceeded to show-off a present she got from a friend. It was an A4-sized, deep brown with beautiful design on the hard cover. Flipping through, the pages were made of crisp light brown paper that had clear fonts and light pink borders. Needless to say, it looked impressive. What was more impressive was what was inside.
Sure, its a Malay translation of the Qur’an. But its not just any translation. While all other translations in the market provide line-by-line translation, this particular also offers a word-by-word translation – most suitable for anyone keen to pick up or brush up on your Arabic language.
Here’s an example:

The line-by-line translation is found at the side:

If you notice, on the second ayah, there’s a reference number 924. At the bottom of the pages, there are footnotes to further explain certain words or the whole line.
The best thing I found with regards to this translation is the Index at the back. Categorised under broad headings like Akhlak, Wanita, Ilmu & Cabang-Cabangya etc, what follows are lines in the Qur’an that correspond to that particular topic or theme!
Here’s a visual example:

Above you can see the broad heading of Dakwah Kepada Allah and on the other side, it says “Perbuatan Buruk”.

Over here, its under the heading of Akhlak.
Neat isn’t it?
That’s not all! It also comes together with a bookmark that has the Doa for Sujud Tilawah, the different signs of waqof and also, another index that details from Juz 1 all the way till Juz 30 all the lines that are similar! It is said that its supposed to help those who are in the process of memorizing the al-Qur’an to differentiate the similar-sounding lines.
While my lucky mum got it as a gift from a friend, the rest of you can own one too or give it as a gift to someone you love.

Weekly Inspirations from the Quran
“Bro Mehboob, would you pass us a copy of you weekly inspirations?”, I said. The next day Bro Mehboob replied to us that he wanted to send this booklet. At the same time I invited him to a CASH FLOW game at the Peck Seah Office on the 14th of February 2009.
I was very pleased when he presented this book to us. “No problem, you can give it away”, Bro Mehboob said. “Its free?”, I said. “Yes. Its part of our dakwah”, said Bro Mehboob.
Masyallah. He didn’t just gave us a set, instead he gave 5 sets so that we can keep one and the rest we can give away to anyone who comes to our office. How wonderful is that.
The first Quote in this Volume -
Everything Starts with Allah
How many times do we teach our children that
“A” stands for apple and “B” stands for Boy, etc.,
when we forget that “A” stands for Allah
and that everything starts with Him.
Quote
In the Name of Allah
(Surah Al-Fatihah, Verse 1)
There’s over 52 more quotes to last us a year from Volume 1 and Faith Hub have also printed the second volume which is available too. It’s really a handy booklet where you can move around with it and get inspired by the verses from the Quran.
If you wish to get a copy of the Weekly Inspirations of the Quran, you can contact Mr Mehboob via their website www.faithhub.com to arrange a pick up. You can also contribute some funds to help them print more of the booklets or to support their activties.
