Isra' and Mi'raj - The Night Visit and Ascension

[Event has ended]

In the twelfth year of Prophet Muhammad's s.a.w. mission, the Muslim community went under constant persecution. It was also in that year the Prophet Muhammad's beloved wife Khadijah and his uncle Abu Talib both died. Without Abu Talib's protection, the Muslim community experienced ever-increasing harassment in Mecca.

In the midst of such adversity, the Prophet Muhammad had a comforting experience, known as Isra' and Mi'raj. The Israa and Miraj refers to two parts of a miraculous journey that Prophet Muhammad s.a.w took in one night from Mecca to Jerusalem, and then ascending to the heavens – as referred to in Surah Al-Israa (17: 1) in the Quran.

The comforting experience that the Prophet Muhammad had is significant to us today. At a time when we face difficulties and challenges in our life, remember that we too, can take a journey towards a sacred safe place, knowing that it will bring us towards that eternal peace in the life hereafter, even now.

In this session, Ust Saif-ur-Rahman will share with us the wisdom behind this significant event, the lessons to be learned from it, and how we too, can embark on that journey towards eternal peace.
