More about our Speaker:

Ustazah Nazeerah Shaik Alwee

Ustazah Nazeerah Shaik Alwie is a proud graduate of Alsagoff Arabic School, where she completed her GCE O Levels and emerged as the School Best Student. She then received her Diploma in Islamic Foundation & Theology majoring in Quranic Interpretation from Insaniah, located in Kedah, Malaysia and upon completion; she was awarded the Best Student Award from the Sultan of Kedah.

She then continued her Degree in Al-Azhar University in Egypt and graduated with Honours in the same specialization, after which, she pursued her Masters, majoring in Da'awah (Islamic Propagation) and graduated in 2009 with a First-Class Honour from the American Open University of Cairo.

Her transition as an educator started as early as her secondary school years, where she offered tuitions for her juniors in Alsagoff Arabic School as well as various learning centres; teaching kids, youths and adults Islamic Studies and Arabic Language. Nazeerah believes in being a friend-cum-guider rather than a literal teacher in the journey of educating and moulding her students.

She was blessed to be given the opportunity to explore more about the Middle East, its turmoil, people, culture and many more when she joined the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, the Embassy of the State of Qatar and the Consulate General of the Sultanate of Oman providing them with various expertises. Nazeerah also taught Arabic Language in National University of Singapore and is currently a free-lance translator, motivator and public speaker residing in Dubai.

She is also the founder of Lu'Lu'. Lu'Lu', a centre where Islamic motivational talks, seminars, courses and workshops of various interesting and up-to-date topics are conducted for the general public, ladies especially. Lu'Lu' was humbly incorporated in Rabiul Awwal 1434H in Singapore and it is derived from an arabic word which means 'pearl', which is an apt description of Muslimah, as Islam places their women higher than the value of a pearl. Muslimah are just, SPECIAL, in each and every aspect of their lives.

Lu'Lu' strives to share with her sisters in the quest of bettering and empowering themselves into a better Muslimah, and there is no better way for a Muslimah to empower herself but via the platform of ‘ILM. Muslimah, being the first madrasah for the children as per described by Imam Syafie' (RA) is more powerful than what we thought we are. Hayya; be proud to be one!
