YOUTH, MYSPEX

It has almost become a norm to associate youths with sports and physical activities. Nowadays, sports have been converted into a universal language in our youth’s conversation and it was also highly regarded as a medium for their social interaction.

In this light, Youth Leaders Network (YLN) with support of MUIS (Islamic Religious Council of Singapore) have agreed to combine our efforts and share our resources to organize a sports event at National level under the banner called MYSPEX that shall provide as a rallying point for the Muslim youths to compete in a healthy manner and show their skills in the games of their choices. MYSPEX is an acronym for Mosque Youth Sports Extravaganza. It is an annual sports event involving all Mosque in Singapore.

2008 MYSPEX Theme

“Healthy Mind. Healthy Body”. This theme is seen to be an impactful captions nonetheless, short and succinct. It was chosen based on MYSPEX’s & HPB’s identical objective which is not only to promote a healthy living lifestyle through sports activism but also to convey a public education on the danger and prohibition of smoking.

Who / How to participate?

• Youths aged 21 and below that are interested in sports activities

• Mosque Youth Wings’ members

• Members of locale Malay Association (e.g. 4PM, MENDAKI, Ain Society etc)

• Youth at large – with the condition that they participate under the banner of Mosque Youth Wings (MYWs) or any locale Malay Associations.
