Last week more than 1,226 loans supported by the government amounting to $622m had been set aside to SME’s by the financial institutions since 1 Feb to 13 Mar 09.

This is more than 5 times more than the average loans of $123m which was given over the same period last year.

At the first dialog session organized by SMCCI at Bicara Bingkas Business held on 20 Mar 09, SMCCI has received numerous request for a more intensive session to be conducted to enable them to understand the mechanics of the schemes.

SMCCI has initiated the second Kenali Diri Programme this Friday, 3rd April 09. The session is to let Muslim Business Community being able to understand the scheme.

Three speakers have been invited to discuss on financial issues is;

Mr Muhammad Zaki Maarof, Director , Yama Medical Supplies.

Two other invited speakers who have indept knowledge on Loan Insurance Scheme(LIS) are;

1)Mr Paduli Jaffar (Vice President, SME Banking),

2)Mr Azzad Ahmad, Loans and Cross Border Business, May Bank.
